THE STORY

This 101 year old schoolhouse has a colorful and varied history. It started out as a one room school and over its lifetime has been a telephone company, a municipal building, a meeting hall, of course a two room schoolhouse and now a home. The neighbours have hysterical and historical stories to tell about this building and some of them actually went to school here. 

 It has been lovingly renovated and has kept its schoolhouse charm. It has all it needs to provide the creature comforts while being out in the country.

 

This house is not for everyone. It is for the person who is an individual and does not want to be compared to the pack. It is for the individual who wants his/her home to be unique and loaded with personality. It is for the person who wants to be close to town but live in the country. The person who appreciates space and fresh air, inside and out. 

 

It would be really hard to find a place to compare to this one, with its high ceilings, acre of manicured lawn, low maintenance, history, charm, worksmanship, country estate feel, etc, etc, etc. You can try though........

 

It started out a one room schoolhouse in 1914. Now it has,  2 bedroms, 2 1/2 bathrooms,  office, kitchen, livngroom, lounge,  family room in the basement, a very large unfinished workshop are in basement, utility room and an upstairs laundry room.

Our little school has grown up!

 

Alexandria is an 8 minute drive and has commuter services to Montreal and Ottawa, so, if you dont feel like driving.........

 

Your dog barks? So what!

 

Sure you have neighbours! You can see them, but, if you wish to speak to them, you may have to go visit. You can wave though!
